Samsung recently announced their UNPACKED press event to take place just before this year's IFA convention, on the 3rd of September, 2pm Berlin local time. Presumably, this is when the Galaxy Note 4 will be announced, along with who knows what other goodies.
It seems like Sony wants to steal a bit of Sammy's thunder, as it has also sent out invitations for a press event on the same date. The invitation simply says “You are invited to the IFA 2014 Sony press conference and exclusive booth unveiling”, and, how thoughtful of Sony, the event is set to start at 4:15pm local time. The invitation further hints at the products to be announced at the event with a collage of not-very-revealing pictures.
Judging by the images, the event will showcase Sony's first 4K resolution, curved TV, which has been known to have a planned debut at this year's IFA. Moving to the right, we see a new possible addition to the QX smart lens series and a couple of pictures of what looks like (judging by previously leaked images and information) an Xperia Z3. This could possibly mean that the Z3 and the expected Z3 Compact will both be unveiled at the event.
The speaker-like objects to the farthest right have us perplexed. If you have any guesses – share them in the comments.
