Rapid Recap: The beautiful game of ‘Osmos’ [Review]

osmosMobile games are usually quickly designed time wasters just to occupy you for that daily train ride or slow times at work. Hemisphere Games took mobile game design to a whole new level while still making a complex, interesting game. Osmos, released December 13, 2013, is one of the most well designed yet playable games to ever hit the mobile gaming market. Osmos drops you into an eerie place known as The Crux, a space like dimension that you must survive in. You are just a simple cell like creature that uses propulsion to move around the dimension, only able to absorb cells that are smaller than you. If you happen to run into a larger cell, it will absorb you. While Osmos is simple concept, the strategy that you have to think about it will hook you after the first level. The levels quickly get more and more complicated; adding gravity, orbits, and a number of challenging aspects into the already amazing environment. The developers are also adding more and more levels to keep you constantly occupied and exploring the beautiful world of Osmos. Osmos is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play -- the iPhone and iPad versions are $2.99 and $4.99 respectively, while the Android versions come in free and HD for $2.99. Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
