FCC visit shows that the HTC Desire 610 will take the last train to Verizon-ville

samedi 13 septembre 2014

Back in May, evleaks tweeted that the HTC Desire 610 was coming to Verizon. At the time, the handset was headed for AT&T, where it is now available for 99 cents with a signed two-year contract. But a recent FCC filing for the phone listed a SKU of HTC331ZLVW, which includes the carrier code HTC uses for Big Red. The filing also mentioned support for CDMA, EV-DO and LTE bands 4 and 13.

AT&T is offering the phone for $199.99 sans contract, and this might be the same pricing that Verizon will employ. The latter could offer it free with a signed two-year contract to help bump up those net new postpaid account numbers. We don't have to tell you that it's a jungle out there. All you need to do is watch any show on prime time television to see that.

The HTC Desire 610 does offer HTC's marvelous BoomSound stereo speakers. For a budget handset, you are also getting quite the head turner. The FCC filing indicates that Verizon should be getting closer to making this official, which will give us information about pricing and availability.
