The unannounced Samsung SM-A500 is shaping up to be a very interesting handset. Earlier this month, we reported that this could be Samsung’s first Galaxy to sport a full metal body - unlike the Galaxy Alpha (seen on the left) and Galaxy Note 4, which have metal frames while the rest is mostly plastic.
Today we have new info which suggests that Samsung is actively working to bring the SM-A500 to market. According to SamMobile, Samsung is making a few changes to the SM-A500’s hardware and software before releasing it. Reportedly, the handset could have the same new TouchWiz interface seen on the Galaxy Note 4 (this, of course, isn’t too different from the UI of the older Note 3). It’s said that newer SM-A500 prototypes feature 13 MP rear cameras, instead of the 8 MP snappers of older models.
The SM-A500 should also feature a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, a Snapdragon 400 processor (though previous rumors indicated the presence of a 64-bit Snapdragon 410), 5 MP front-facing camera, expandable internal memory, and a 2330 mAh battery. Hopefully, more details about the smartphone will be unveiled soon.
