iPad Air 2 to provide much faster than before W-Fi connection speeds, supports record number of LTE bands

Apple promises blazing-fast Wi-Fi speeds with the new iPad Air 2 – up to 866 Mbps, which is more than twice the speed of previous models. It achieves that by coupling the 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology with MIMO tech (multiple-in multiple-out). Of course, real-world results may vary from the marketing materials, but on-paper – it sounds like the iPad Air 2 may be one of the fastest mobile devices, when it comes to browsing and online media consuming. Needless to say, it'd be interesting to put it to the test.



Apple further claims that the cellular enabled iPad Air 2 models will also not disappoint, when it comes to mobile data speeds. Users who have LTE connectivity available to them will, in theory, be able to reach speeds of up to 150 Mbps. The tablet also supports the record-setting 20 LTE bands, which should guarantee you access to the precious high-speed data connection in more areas.
