Entry level Microsoft Lumia 435 visits the FCC; check out a leaked photo and rumored specs

samedi 13 décembre 2014

A new entry level Lumia model is coming. The Microsoft Lumia 435 has just paid a visit to the FCC and has been certified in Indonesia. There are a few variants of the device including the RM-1070, RM-1071, RM-1034, RM-1068 and the RM-1032. The latter two models are dual SIM versions of the phone.

The Nokia Microsoft Lumia 435 will feature a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800. Those specs match exactly with the display on the low-end Nokia Lumia 520, the best selling Windows Phone model of all time. The pixel density works out to 235ppi. A Snapdragon 200 CPU will be driving the phone, which will offer a 5MP rear-facing camera. The dimension of the model is 118.1 mm x 64.7 mm, which compares to the 119.9mm x 64 mm size of the Lumia 520.

The FCC visit revealed that the Microsoft Lumia 435 will be powered by a BV-5J battery that is exclusive to the model. Indian import-export site Zauba posted last month about two interesting imports into India. One was a shipment of ten BV-5J cells for "inter-company use only." The same day, a shipment of ten dual SIM smartphones was shipped into India, valued at $57 USD each. Hmm. Ten unique batteries and the same number of smartphones were shipped into India on the same day. Considering that the batteries are exclusive to the Lumia 435, it sure sounds like the handset has recently been tested in India.

While a launch date for the Lumia 435 is unknown at the moment, all the pieces are coming together to suggest that it shouldn't be terribly long before this new Windows Phone model sees the light of day.
