HTC’s One (M8) will soon be 1-year old, which means a successor to it is just around the corner. While we were expecting this successor to be called One (M9), recent reports suggest that HTC plans to opt for a different naming scheme.
The upcoming smartphone is reportedly codenamed HTC Hima, and should offer plenty of high-end features to lure HTC fans (and not only), including: a 64-bit, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 20.7 MP rear camera, and a 2840 mAh battery.
According to @upleaks, the new HTC flagship handset will be available in three color variants: gray, silver, and gold. As you may know, the One (M8) was available in exactly the same color versions at launch, with others (like red and blue) introduced later on. @upleaks also says that he can “confirm” that the screen of the Hima is a 5-inch 1080p one, not a 5.2-inch or 5.5-inch one, as some rumors wanted us to believe.
HTC might be ready to release the Hima in March 2015. Besides the regular Android-based model, we could also see a Windows-based one, plus an HTC Hima Ultra (which could sport a larger display). While we can't confirm any of the details presented above, most of them make perfect sense. But we'll see what happens next year.
