A New Way to Chat With ‘Dasher’
Actions become habit and when it comes to messaging back and forth with our friends, we’ve established some seemingly irreversible habits. I’m guilty of it too, so I can’t point and shake my finger at you. Until recently, I’ve had no reason to explore any other options available out there. Why would I though? iMessage is so easy and recognizable for almost all of us. The thought of changing any past practices makes me sigh. Well, I’ve broken free from status quo and ventured out to try something new and it’s called Dasher Messenger . My conversations are better than ever with this fun messenger app. The best way to describe Dasher is by comparing it to your news feed on Facebook. As your friends find things to share, it shows up on your news feed. Dasher feels a lot like that but it’s in message
form. You can start a group chat with a bunch of friends and have quite an interesting exchange since Dasher uses “smart links” to share content. Instead of a simple hyperlink link to a video, picture, or news article, Dasher provides a preview of the content but it’s still clickable. For the most part, when you click on shared media, you stay in Dasher so there’s no need to worry about finding your way back into the app. Seems like such a petty thing to complain about, but it’s just more convenient and it makes it easier to keep conversations flowing. If you have friends like mine, you probably enjoy quite a few funny GIFs which show up on your Facebook news feed. If you’ve never had the desire to figure out how they share this content, you can easily do it with Dasher. Simply place a hashtag in the text box followed by a word and they’ll find one for you. If you don’t like what they’ve selected simply hit refresh and a new one is displayed. Keep refreshing till you find what fits your description or conversation. It’s a great way to add humor and action to the conversation.
