Google app is updated for Android, gives users more control over what cards appear on Google Now

mercredi 7 janvier 2015

The Google app for Android has received an update which takes the app to version 4.1. Besides the usual bug fixes, the app includes a number of "Now Cards." These allow you to control the cards that appear on Google Now. You can also decide whether urgent updates will result in a vibration alert, or a phone ring.

Other options give you the ability to initiate a voice search by saying "Ok, Google," which works in conjunction with the always on screen. There is also a way to train Google to remember your voice, similar to how Windows Phone users train their voice to use the "Hey Cortana" feature.

Another new feature allows you to have "Personal Results" like calendar events, appear on your lockscreen when you say the "Ok Google" command. And Google has also added a manage space option in settings, which allows you to clear app data and get a bit more storage on your phone.

The update should be hitting your device soon. If you're the impatient type, you might be able to find the update waiting for your consent in the Google Play Store under "My apps."
