AT&T and Sprint aren’t the only North American carriers that will launch LG’s brand new G Flex 2. US Cellular also confirmed that it would start selling the handset sometime in the spring (for a price that hasn’t been revealed), thus offering its customers the chance to buy the world’s first Snapdragon 810-powered smartphone.
Unlike AT&T and Sprint, US Cellular didn’t release the first-generation G Flex, so this will be its very first curved, flexible handset.
Definitely one of the hottest smartphones announced at CES 2015, the LG G Flex 2 is more compact that its predecessor, as its display is a 5.5-inch 1080p one (instead of the 6-inch 720p screen of the original G Flex). The new smartphone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, and has a self-healing back cover. It’s also got lots of features that you’d expect from any high-end handset these days, including LTE connectivity, 3 GB of RAM, and a 13 MP rear camera with laser auto focus. Mare sure to check out our LG G Flex 2 hands-on to find out more about the device.
Before launching the LG G Flex 2, US Cellular will start selling another unusual smartphone: the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge (which, as you probably know, is already available to buy Stateside). The Note Edge will be sold by US Cellular starting tomorrow, January 7, for $399 on contract.
