SanDisk has introduced a new flash drive that transfers files between OTG enabled Android devices and PCs or Macs using the micro-USB port on your mobile device |
At CES on Monday, SanDisk introduced the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0. With a micro-USB and a high-speed USB 3.0 connector, the device will help you transfer files between a Mac or PC and your OTG enabled Android smartphone or tablet. Besides transferring files between devices, the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 will also help Android smartphone and tablet users free up some storage space by allowing the user to move some content to the portable drive.
The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 will be available from SanDisk.com with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB capacity. MSRP ranges from $22.99 to $64.99, and the Drive comes with a five-year warranty.
"Android devices offer users amazing features including high-resolution photography and 4K Ultra HD video recording, which quickly fill large amounts of mobile memory, and we know our customers are looking for quick ways to access and transfer these types of files. In an effort to continue to improve our customer experience, we incorporated feedback from our existing SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive to build an even sleeker, faster and more convenient solution for users on the go."-Philippe Willams, director of retail storage, SanDisk
In addition to featuring a retractable design, the drive features a longer micro-USB connector which helps to accommodate device cases and port covers. File transfers from the drive to your computer take place at a speed of 130Mbps, allowing you to quickly store photos and videos that you have taken with your Android flavored phone or tablet. If you're not sure if your Android device supports OTG, SanDisk has a page which lists Android models that do. Go to http://ift.tt/1maao6Q.
