Nokia Lumia 822, Nokia Lumia 928 disappear from Verizon's website; Big Red says both are sold out

jeudi 8 janvier 2015

If you're looking to pick up a Lumia branded Windows Phone handset for your Verizon account, you are not going to be able to do it online. The Nokia Lumia 822 and Nokia Lumia 928 are both no longer showing up on Big Red's website. The nation's largest carrier says that both models are sold out, which explains their absence from the site.

But does Verizon's answer really give us the last word on this matter? Normally, if a device is sold out and is expected to be restocked, a small "Temporarily Unavailable" sign is put up. This lets the customer know that the model hasn't been completely discontinued, and will return. So we have to say that the complete removal of the Lumia 822 and Lumia 928 seems a little strange.

If you have your heart and mind set on one of these two phones, you might want to call some of the Verizon locations in your area to see if you can find a store that has either unit in stock. Or, you might consider the HTC One (M8) for Windows, or the Samsung ATIV SE. These two Windows Phone models are still available from Verizon's website.
