Boost Mobile, one of Sprint's pre-paid brands, announced today that the Samsung Galaxy Prevail LTE will be available starting on January 19th. The handset is priced at $129.99 off contract. The phone features a 4.5-inch screen and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 CPU. The rear-facing camera weighs in at 5MP while a 2MP shooter adorns the front of the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy Prevail LTE comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. In the likely event that you need more memory, a 128GB capacity microSD slot is available. And with HD-Voice support, you can have crystal clear conversations with the owners of other HD-Voice enabled handsets. Of course, both of you will have to be using the Sprint network in certain parts of the country.
Yes, that means that this phone offers support for Sprint Spark. That is the tri-band enhanced LTE network that uses the 800 MHz, 1.9 GHz and 2.5 GHz LTE spectrum to provide speeds in the 50Mbps to 60Mbps range. The Samsung Galaxy Prevail LTE is quite a bargain for a Spark enabled model. Technology inside the device figures out what task you are doing with your phone, and connects you with the best LTE band for the job. One caveat: unless you are connected to a Wi-Fi signal, Spark users cannot employ both voice and data at the same time.
