New Details About Apple Watch Battery Emerge

New Details About Apple Watch Battery Emerge
As apposed to previous claims, 9to5Mac reports that the Apple Watch will be able to have 5 hours of heavy usage. The better battery life will help with customers who want to use their watches more heavily. However, the report makes it clear that the wearable device will still need to be charged every night. As a full days of usage should bring you down to about 20-30% every night. On the topic of battery, the report further indicates the possibility of a Power Reserve mode. The feature dims the display, nearly disconnects from the iPhone, and can apparently be enabled on a full charge under the watches battery settings. The report also gives us some smaller tidbits of information. The watch is able to be turned off by holding down the Contact button, and voice commands is labeled "Voice Control", and not Siri. We expect Apple to unveil more information about the watch at its special event on Monday.

Jony Ive in Another Interview ahead of Apple Watch’s Launch

Jony Ive in Another Interview ahead of Apple Watch’s Launch
Known as "the man behind the Apple Watch", Jony Ive shares a few details with FT’s Nick Foulkes about the upcoming first generation Apple Watch. The design guru mentions the teams attention to detail, the design behind the watch, and how it differentiates itself from the iPhone. Ive argues that the battery life on the wearable device won\'t be an issue because of the nature of the device:
He went as far as mentioning the amount of time and effort behind the design of the devices packaging. Just like any other Apple made device, the watch sports a minimalist packaging with a bottom that slides out. The article mentions that both the stainless steel Apple Watch and anodized Apple Watch Sport will both start at $349. It goes on to say the Apple Watch Edition will start at a “yet unconfirmed price of around $4,500". Though Apple PR has denied any claims based on pricing. Of course, Apple is set to unveil pricing details during its "Spring Forward" event on Monday.
One of the things that struck me was how often I’d look at my watch and have to look again quite soon afterwards, because I hadn’t actually comprehended what the time was.
If I had looked at something on my phone, because of the investment involved in taking it out of my pocket or my bag, I would certainly pay attention. I quite like this sense of almost being careless and just glancing. I think for certain things the wrist is the perfect place for this technology.

Personal Engraving May Be Coming to Apple Watch

Personal Engraving May Be Coming to Apple Watch
The iPad and iPod Touch has always had an engraving option, through the Apple Online Store. A new rumor coming from France is now claiming that Apple\'s new wearable device will also be engraved. French blog iPhonote mentioned this report from an anonymous source involved with Apple that the company will be laser engraving the Apple Watch for free.
With the Apple Watch being billed as “Apple’s most personal device ever,” being able to laser engrave the device will reinforce the personalization aspect of the device. The Apple Watch itself is a very small device and we think it\'d be pretty difficult for them to put a laser engraving on the device. We don\'t know where they\'d put it on the device. Apple\'s Spring Forward event is going to be held on Monday, March 9th, and we suspect Apple to unveil more information about the wearable device, which may include an engraved Apple Watch.

Apple’s Apple Watch Retail Strategy Leaked ahead of Launch

Apple’s Apple Watch Retail Strategy Leaked ahead of Launch
The Apple Watch event is coming up this Monday. Ahead of the announcement, Apple has begun training it\'s Apple employees to sell the wearable device. According to 9to5Mac\'s Mark Gurman, Apple goes over three key points retail employees will need to know to sell the Apple Watch. According to information given to Gurman, Apple wants to know three things about their customers in order to sell the Apple Watch: prior knowledge about the watch, is their iPhone compatible, and wether or not they\'re looking for a casual or formal watch. The first piece of intel is pretty self explanatory. The company wants to know how much the customer knows about the watch. Several examples include what interests them, and what do they plan to use it for. As Gurman notes, Apple\'s assumption is that the customer already knows about the device. The second discovery is also pretty simple. Is their iPhone compatible? Most likely, if the customer is coming in with an iPhone 4s or older they\'ll be eligible for a typical 2 year contract. The Apple Watch is only compatible with the iPhone 5 and above, (this includes the iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus). The last question is the most complex of the three. As Apple says, the watch is the most personal device they\'ve ever made. For a tech company, this is a tough problem to tackle. The company will be looking at customers trends, tastes and material preferences, and whether or not they prefer leather or steel bands. The Apple Watch was originally unveiled in September alongside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and Apple\'s mobile payment system, Apple Pay. The company will be revealing more information at its keynote on Monday.

Apple Sends Out Invites for Media Event on March 9th

Apple Sends Out Invites for Media Event on March 9th
On Thursday Apple sent out invites to their media event being held on March 9th at the Yerba Buena Center of the Arts. Originating from the Loop, the invite (as shown above), which invites attendees to "Spring Forward." There\'s no official word on what the company will unveil. But we should be expecting more details on Apple\'s wearable device, the Apple Watch. Originally announced in September 2014, we don\'t know much about the watch. Beyond the starting price of $349, the two 38mm and 42mm sizes, and the three editions (Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport, and Apple Watch Edition), there\'s lots to go over. The biggest concern being battery life. It\'s been quite a while since Apple has done a Spring event. The last time it had happened, Apple was announcing the third-generation iPad and Apple TV 3.
