Everywear Games, the dedicated smartwatch game development studio, have recently released their first fantasy adventure title ­– Runeblade –onto the Apple Watch. As a fully original smartwatch game, Runeblade mixes simple pick-up-and-play design with increasing complex gameplay. Set in a magical land, Runeblade places the player as the High Priestess of the War Mages who is in charge of stopping an ancient evil from destroying the world. Players must collect and upgrade an arsenal of weapons, armor, and spells to survive against their foes.

“April 2015 marks the beginning of smartwatch gaming. Everywear Games Announces Fantasy Adventure Game ‘Runeblade’ Exclusive for Apple Watch

Everywear Games, a Helsinki-based development studio, has recently announced their latest fantasy adventure game Runeblade which is set to land exclusively on Apple Watch in later this month. Developed from start to finish as a smartwatch-only game, Runeblade is a simple adventure game that\'s designed give an excellent gaming experience just on the Apple Watch. Runeblade mixed RPG aspects with an easy to understand design that increasingly gets harder and more complex as gamers progress through the game. Set in a world of fantasy and magic, Runeblade puts the player as the High Priestess of the War Mages who is tasked with stopping a menace from destorying the realm. In the game, players will acquire a wide range of gear, spells, unlockable powers and more to take on creatures to defend their home world. Because this game will be played on such a small screen and device, it will be interesting to see just how user friendly the UI will be to navigate.

Helsinki-Based Game Studio “Everywear Games” Formed to Focus on Swatchwatch Devices

Everywear Games , a new Helsinki-based gaming studio, has been recently formed that\'s set to focus entirely on developing for the leading wearable smartwatch devices. The team was formed by a variety of veteran developers from companies including Remedy, Digital Chocolate and Rovio. Everywear Games is also supported by some of the top gaming investors in the world. Petteri Koponen, partner at Lifeline Ventures, is the Chairman of the Board. Nikolaj Nyholm, partner at Sunstone Capital, has also joined the board of directors.

“It’s energizing to do something that has never been done before. The potential for natively developed games on wearables is limitless,” said Mika Tammenkoski, CTO and co-founder of Everywear Games. “We’re striving to perfect the wearable gameplay experience.”

As of now, we were informed that more details on games from Everywear Games will be revealed later this year or sometime next year. We\'re hoping more information will be available sometime soon this year with the Apple Watch coming out next month, but we\'ll see.
