Apple Watch Slated for March Launch, Says Report

Apple-Watch-models_MGZOOM According to a report from 9to5Mac, Apple is planning to release their product, the Apple Watch, in just a couple months. 9to5Mac\'s Mark Gurman says Apple is currently polishing up its software, and sources familiar with the product says it\'s on track for a March release in the US. The company has been fairly vague about the launch of the Apple Watch. The only knowledge we really have is that the watch will be available in "early 2015." The firm’s retail chief Angela Ahrendts narrowed the window a bit further in November, telling employees in a video message that it’d be arriving in the "Spring". Gurman notes that any unexpected issues in the software or manufacturing issues could potentially delay the watches launch. Tim Cook and co. will begin an extensive testing program in February to familiarize their retail employees with the watch. The Apple Watch, unveiled in September, will require an iPhone to function. It also has a built-in heart beat sensor, be able to track your activity, and interactive push notifications. The watch will come in three models Standard, Sport, and Edition. Pricing will begin at $349.

Advertisers Looking into Placing Ads on Apple Watch

It has come to a day where ads are simply everywhere, even on your watch. Mobile advertising company TapSense this week announced that they will be the first advertising company to place ads on wearables. TapSense promises specific ads tailored for the Apple Watch. This may include custom watch faces, glances as well as full screen experiences. Advertisers will also be able to track GPS data (via the connected iPhone) to provide “hyper-local” ads.

“Wearables and Internet of Things (IoT) are the next frontiers in the mobile revolution. We are excited to announce industry’s first programmatic ad platform for Apple Watch developers and brands. ” said Ash Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO of TapSense. “While most of our competitors are focused on banner ads and legacy platforms, we are focused on innovation and next generation platforms. Apple Watch has the potential to be a category disruptor similar to iPod or iPhone and we believe that it provides great opportunities for brands and developers to deliver engaging experiences to consumers.”

Pushing advertisements to a device such as the Apple Watch may have its risks. For example, customers may want to stop wearing their watches because of constant ads. An ad platform must focus on timing and relevancy, otherwise they\'ll just become obtrusive. On the contrary, pushing retail coupons and location based app suggestions can come in handy.

Apple Announces Apple Pay, Set to Revolutionize the Mobile Payment Industry

applepay_landscape After Apple\'s much anticipated iPhone 6 keynote speech yesterday, it\'s safe to say that they have finally stepped up their game once again. Not only is Apple moving towards bigger phone sizes similar to Android, they are now taking on the mobile payment industry with Apple Pay, their latest venture that will allow consumers to easily pay with their credit card by using their Apple Watch or iPhone. Most recently Google launched Google Wallet, however, there were some drawbacks and downfalls to the service. With Apple being Apple, they typically wait a bit to see what other companies do, then improve on their ideas. One excellent example is the Apple Watch -- Apple wasn\'t the first, however, they waited for other companies like Pebble and Samsung to release their first or second generation smart watches, observe their flaws and downfalls, then release their own smart watch that improved on those aspects. But without any further to do, be sure to check out the full press release by clicking the following link.

Images of Apple Wearables Leaked Just Hours Before the iPhone 6 Event

In a somewhat odd turn of events, images of various Apple wearables have just been leaked onto the internet just hours before the iPhone 6 event which is set to begin at 1PM EDT (10AM PDT) today. Well known for their secrecy, Apple typically has very tight security guidelines and rules during production as well as in the days leading up to a big announcement. This isn\'t the first time either a big leak as happened, back in April of 2010 Gizmodo was able to get their hands on a development version of the highly anticipated iPhone 4. Well, fast forward four years later and now images have been leaked of some very interesting wearables from Apple. That said it is still anybody\'s guess if we\'ll see them or not today, however, we can only hope. [Thanks to nihmhin via Reddit]

Apple’s iPhone 6 Event Set for September 9th

apple_inviteWell folks, buckle up and get ready -- a week from today Apple is set to have one of their most anticipated events of the year. Earlier this year during Apple\'s WWDC in San Francisco, there were some really high hopes that the iPhone 6 would be announced along with the iWatch. Well as the keynote speech went on, it slowly became apparent that neither the iPhone 6 or iWatch would be announced. That being said, fast forward to now and it\'s almost guaranteed that the iPhone 6 will be announced along with the iWatch, however, that could be a huge stretch. Moving forward, other rumors have hinted that Apple will release a pretty significant update for Siri along with an even larger iPad. Just like almost every Apple event, the keynote is set to begin at 1PM EST/10AM PST and will probably take at least a good hour. Even though we won\'t be attending the event, there will be plenty of live-blogs all throughout the web plus numerous roundups as well.
