‘Assassin’s Creed Pirates’ Gets Onshore Exploration in Latest Update!

Just recently, Ubisoft announced that a brand new update for their hit iOS game Assassin’s Creed Pirates has been released onto the App Store. Thanks to this major update it improves the game with brand new runner gameplay, and welcomes players to explore 64 hidden Mayan temples. By collecting Mayan stones spread across temples, players can unlock map fragments which sends them on a treasure hunt to find eight new rewards. Player\'s journey on land will lead them to uncover 24 new treasure chests along with 50 new daily challenges which have been added to spice up the adventure. It appears that Ubisoft regularly updates Assassin’s Creed Pirates about every month, so we\'ll be sure to keep you posted on what comes next for the game. Those who already have Assassin’s Creed Pirates on their iOS device can download the update right now for free, however, first time players can get the game at no cost on the App Store.

Whoops! I went and spaced the round up this week, I was a little too social on the weekend and completely forgot about it. This one will just be a bit longer than normal and the next will definitely be shorter, awesome! This week we reviewed an awesome new third party iOS keyboard that could take the record for worlds fasted touchscreen keyboard, we also talked about the SteelSeries Stratus XL controller coming to Apple Retail stores near you and a bunch more awesome game news and updates that happened this week.

Nintype: The One Keyboard to Rule Them All One keyboard to rule them all, One keyboard to find them, One keyboard to bring them all and in the darkness bind them… Nintype is an incredibly revolutionary new keyboard from long time iOS developer Jormy that helps you speed through texts at over 100 words per minute! It was just released a few days ago on the App Store for $4.99 and it is most definitely worth the price. Don’t let the overwhelming amount of customization or crazy awesome animations deter you, it can be dumbed down to look almost exactly like the iOS keyboard but with all the amazing features still there hidden beneath the surface. As someone who has never been able to fully grasp the use case of swipe keyboards mainly because of a few jailbreak tweaks like SwipeSelection and SwipeExpander, I have fallen in love with Nintype.

Ubisoft Announces the HD Version of ‘Heroes of Might & Magic III’, Coming to iOS Next Year In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Ubisoft has recently announced their latest upcoming game Heroes of Might & Magic III – HD Edition, a return to the most popular turn-based strategy game of the franchise. Developed by DotEmu, the HD update brings the players’ experience to a new level. Heroes of Might & Magic III – HD Edition will be available on PC as well as (iOS and Androi for the first time on January 29th, 2015. Fans of the series will get to relive an enhanced Heroes III adventure thanks to the authentic upgrades made on graphics which can now be appreciated on wide screens. This new HD edition still remains loyal to the roots of the original game by offering seven campaign scenarios, 48 skirmish maps, a local multiplayer mode and a map editor that’s only available on the PC version. Also, a new online multiplayer Steam lobby will also be added for players to share their comments and experiences with the rest of the Heroes III community. SteelSeries Stratus XL Out Now In Apple Retail Stores SteelSeries, a leader in gaming peripherals, have announced that their full-sized console-style gaming controller designed iOS devices, the Stratus XL, is now available in Apple Retail Stores. Thanks to the Stratus and Stratus XL gamers can have a console-style gaming experience on iOS devices. Released earlier this year, the SteelSeries Stratus was one of the first wireless controllers to come to market for gaming on iOS devices. With the introduction of the Stratus XL, gamers have the option to play games with a wireless controller that is small and portable or one that is full-sized. The Stratus XL mimics the familiar layout of console controllers and features a pressure-sensitive directional pad (D-pad), four pressure-sensitive action buttons and a total of four shoulder buttons, including two pressure-sensitive top shoulder buttons and two analog bottom trigger buttons. In addition to dual analog sticks, the Stratus XL includes a dedicated pairing button to connect to iOS devices via Bluetooth.

‘Trials Frontier’ Gets Multiplayer Mode in Latest Update

Trials Frontier , the free-to-play mobile game from RedLynx Studio and Ubisoft, has recently been updated to allow players to directly compete against each other in a brand new PvP mode. In this update, the mysterious character Zudina has appeared in town from her underground bunker. From there, she organizes players to compete in showdowns over month long seasons to reach the highest rank. Players can face-off against each other on three tracks in all-or-nothing matches. At the end of every match, players are given prizes including PvP Chips that can be traded in at the Chip Store to unlock tracks, exclusive outfits and other special items. For those who have already downloaded the game, you can get the update right now and enjoy all the new content and features.

“The PvP mode is the largest in-game update in Trials Frontier, and will be the first time a true competitive Player vs. Player has ever come to the Trials’ Universe,” said Justin Swan, Lead Designer on Trials Frontier. “We’ve worked diligently to create a PvP mode that lets players race each other asynchronously while also keeping the competitive Trials spirit alive. Players will see their initial town grow into a kingdom as they continue to expand their empire by colonizing islands to produce new goods and acquire rare resources. Valiant Hearts: The Great War tells the story of four lives crossed with tragedy and triumph during The Great War which is also available to download on the PC, XBOX, and Play Station. This interactive comic book tells the back story of Walt, the faithful canine companion from Valiant Hearts. As the main character, Walt will share his adventures alongside his sister, Cassie. The pair grew up together until one day events of The Great War sent them down two very different paths. In this tale of heroism, both dogs are thrown into the maze of trenches across the Western Front, and have to navigate their own way to survive. That being said, Walt and Cassie won’t share a common fate -- while one will become a messenger, the other will become a medic who helps fallen soldiers. Played both offensively and defensively, players must help the Dynamo City collect and protect orbs -- the power source that fuels the city -- from a rival robot. In The Bot Squad: Puzzle Battles, players control robotic units which have unique abilities that can be combined to navigate trap-ridden arenas when searching for orbs. Additionally, players must also deploy defensive units to protect their orbs from waves of invading forces, by strategically placing blockers and attack bots. The game features four different strategic puzzle modes, 180 stages to complete as well as dozens of robots to manage. Developed for iPhone and iPad, The Bot Squad: Puzzle Battles will be released October 16th on the App Store as well as Google Play for Android users. In The Bot Squad: Puzzle Battles, players control robotic units that search for orbs in obstacle ridden maps. The robots\' unique abilities can be combined to navigate trap-ridden arenas in the futuristic Dynamo City. Players can also deploy defensive units to protect their orbs from waves of invading robot forces, by strategically placing blockers and attack bots. Pixel Trap, Romania\'s latest mobile studio formed from various EA, Gameloft and Ubisoft teams, have recently announced that their debut iOS game -- Mighty Adventure -- is now available to download on the App Store. At its core, Mighty Adventure is a high quality color explosion of a platformer mixed with an action adventure runner. Players must control three different characters across a quest through 40 levels and 4 worlds. That being said, you\'ll need to use each character\'s special ability whether it\'s double jump, stomp or dash in real time as you play through the game. Being able to chain them together in a sequence and switch quickly will be extremely beneficial. Even though Mighty Adventure may not be a typical game we would write about, we highly recommend you check it out sometime when you have a chance. Ubisoft, one of the best known mobile and console game developers, have announced that Trials Frontier , the free-to-play iOS title from RedLynx, is receiving its first major content update. With this recent update comes a new mission, Home Sweet Home, as well as 11 new tracks and more customization options, allowing players to create a unique look for their rider and bike. Additionally, new outfits can be equipped at the Home Shack while every bike has new paint job options to chose from. Moving forward, players have a new way to take the lead thanks to the Banana Time feature which can be used by throwing a banana peel into an enemy\'s path, causing them to lose traction. For those that always took to The Loot Wheel to get new items, it has also been updated with the chance to win a bigger amount of coins, new tracks, outfits, and bike paint jobs. After months and months of waiting, Ubisoft has finally announced that ctOS , the free-to-play companion app to the highly anticipated action-adventure game Watch Dogs is now available on the App Store to download. Players of ctOS will take on the role of a Central Operation System operative to hack ctOS devices located throughout the city in an effort to catch Aiden Pearce and stop him from reaching his destination. In the game, players can also race against players on the PC or consoles, strategically hacking traffic lights, steam pipes, bridges and sending police helicopters and vehicles to stop players from reaching their goal. Best of all ctOS does not require purchasing Watch Dogs to play, but to make the most out the app, an internet connection and Uplay account are required to face-off against those playing from consoles and PC. Lastly, ctOS players can advance through the rankings, earning experience and skill points with each opponent they stop. Just recently Ubisoft announced that their hit iOS title, Assassin’s Creed Pirates , has received its third major update since the game\'s release in December 2013. For players willing to travel far from the safety of commercial routes, a new area called La Boca del Diablo is now available to explore. This mysterious island is full of dark legends where players learn about the secrets of the island through a new story mission. In this new missions players can seek new treasures and diaries to unlock secrets about La Buse’s missing treasure. The update also features new daily challenges that give players the opportunity to complete three challenges a day such as collecting books, sinking Merchant ships or completing Assassination missions to earn gold. Adding on, three difficulty levels are available for each challenge, which pay-out more or less depending upon which difficulty the player selected.
