AdDuplex is a mobile ad network for Windows Phone flavored handsets. Thanks to that role, it has an insight into the Windows Phone ecosystem that most don't have. The latest data gleaned by founder Alan Mendelevich reveals that Windows Phone 8.1 is already on 5.2% of Windows Phone devices. Currently, those who signed up with Microsoft as a developer, and those with the Nokia Lumia 630/635 have access to Windows Phone 8.1. 77% are running Windows Phone 8 and 17.8% are still using a handset powered by Windows Phone 7.x.
AdDuplex also revealed that while the Nokia Lumia 520 remains the most popular Windows Phone handset, it is beginning to lose market share. The "value" entry-level model (which will get updated to Windows Phone 8.1) has a 33.7% slice of the Windows Phone pie. It is a long way down to the next most popular Lumia phone. The Nokia Lumia 625 is next with a 6.7% share. With a 6.2% share, the Nokia Lumia 920 is third. Surprisingly, the T-Mobile exclusive Nokia Lumia 521 jumped from 11th to 4th, with a 6% market share of the Windows Phone platform.
In France and Poland, the HTC 8S is the third most popular Windows Phone handset. In the Czech Republic, that honor is reserved for the Nokia Lumia 800.
