From China comes a rumor that cites "Luxshare insiders" as its source. Luxshare happens to be a manufacturer of coils employed for wireless charging. Those with knowledge of what goes on in that company, say that Apple has selected the firm to be a supplier for the Apple iWatch. The speculation actually revolves around two producers of the part, with the unnamed second company about to lose the iWatch business to Luxshare.
The story, which should be taken with a grain of your usual salt supplement, is that Luxshare has sent its coil to Apple for certification. If the gang at Cupertino puts its stamp of approval on the part, it's a steak and champagne celebration for the top brass at Luxshare. The supplier isn't giving away any information about its rumored relationship with Apple and Apple's wearable. According to the coil provider, it can not discuss this matter because "the product (iWatch) is not yet available."
There is plenty of speculation stating that the Apple iWatch will finally be unveiled at WWDC 2014, which is only days away from opening. More importantly for Luxshare, one report out of China forecasts that despite the late start, Apple will ship 65 million units of the iWatch in 2014. Sounds like Luxshare is about to perform a great financial magic trick, turning coils into tons of cash.
Thanks for the tip!
