LG G Watch appears at FCC

mercredi 28 mai 2014

LG has already put up a website to start promoting the LG G Watch, which will be among the first to be powered by Android Wear. One version of the wearable, which will have the model number LG-W100, had apparently paid a visit to the FCC earlier this month. The filing has revealed some information about the timepiece, including the inclusion of Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE.

The filing did fail to include any mention of 3G or 4G connectivity, which means that unlike the rumored new Samsung smartwatch, the LG G Watch will have to sync to a smartphone in order to make or take calls. The device is believed to carry a 1.65 inch screen with a 280 x 280 resolution, offer 4GB of native storage, and is expected to be dust and water resistant.

Another model, the LG-W105L, was not mentioned in the FCC filing. This could be a version of the watch that is capable of hooking up to a 3G or 4G pipeline on its own. We could see both watches unveiled at Google I/O, late next month.

Thanks for the tip, Jerome!
