LTE-ready LG F70 launching globally starting this month

Initially announced in February at MWC, the new LG F70 smartphone is now ready to be released around the world. According to LG, the handset will be available to buy in Europe starting early May - which is about now. Asia and the Americas (including North America) should get the phone shortly after that. Two color options will be available: black and white.

Running Android 4.4 KitKat, the LG F70 has LTE connectivity, and a 4.5-inch IPS display with 480 x 800 pixels (not the sharpest of screens out there, that’s for sure). The handset is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor that’s paired with 1GB of RAM for a decent user experience. Other features include Knock Code, a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera, microSD card support, 4GB or 8GB of internal memory (depending on market), and a 2,440mAh battery.

“The F70 possesses all the best of LG’s LTE technologies in a slim, handsome design that will appeal to millions of customers worldwide who are thinking of upgrading to 4G,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

LG didn’t reveal the price of its new F70, but we expect the handset to be affordable anyway. To see the new smartphone in action, you should check out our LG F70 hands-on here.
