Macphun Releases ‘Lost Photos’ App for Mac, Find Forgotten on Your Email

LostPhotosMacphun Software, one of the best photography software developers for the Mac, have officially announced the release of their latest program Lost Photos , a free Mac app that allows users to find forgotten photos within their email accounts. Originally created by Space Inch, Macphun has worldwide publishing rights and now directs development for Lost Photos. To put things into perspective, roughly 144.8 billion emails are sent and received every day with countless photos attached, so as one can imagine even trying to organize your own emails and photos with them can be troublesome. Thankfully though, Lost Photos makes this easier by scanning and revealing pictures stored in the email messages of most popular IMAP email accounts like Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud and more. From there once photos have been recovered, users have the option to preview and download them which in turn can serve for viewing purposes or as a backup. Features:

  • Easy Set-up - just enter an email address and password.

  • Security - Safely login to email using the same encryption as Gmail and other providers.

  • Support for all popular email domains - iCloud, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL and many more.

  • Live Preview - View image thumbnails and save them to your Mac.

  • Filters - Filter out images of certain types or sizes to ensure you get photos vs. graphic files.

  • Sharing - Share images on Facebook, Twitter or via email.

  • Manage - Recovered images can be imported into iPhoto and Aperture libraries.

“Our chief mission at Macphun is to inspire photography among Mac users around the world” said Paul Muzok, CEO & Founder of Macphun Software. “Lost Photos charmed us with its simplicity and the joy of re-discovering images we’d forgotten about. We think everyone who has ever emailed or received an image will love it,” Muzok continued.

For those interested in the pricing model, the first 100 photos are free to download while in-app purchases increase that limit to 500 photos ($1.99) or unlimited photos ($2.99). Lost Photos can be downloaded on the Mac App Store by clicking here.
