The old style box was blue and resembled the one used by Nokia for its feature phones. There is some talk that Microsoft will be re-branding the Lumia line using the Surface moniker. The only downside to that, is that the Lumia name is not only very well known, but is also nearly synonymous with Windows Phone. Companies spend hundreds of millions of dollars to achieve that kind of branding.
It will be interesting moving forward to see how Microsoft plans on making the Lumia line its own.
