Moto G LTE pre-orders available now, first deliveries expected in June

Announced yesterday alongside the ultra-cheap Moto E, the Moto G LTE addresses two shortcomings that the original Moto G has: the lack of LTE support, and the lack of a microSD card slot.

Customers looking to get the new Moto G LTE can now pre-order it both at Motorola’s US website, and at Amazon. For now, only the 8GB version of the Moto G LTE can be pre-ordered, and it costs $219. We’re assuming that the 16GB variant will be available soon, too.

Both Motorola and Amazon are mentioning that the Moto G LTE will be shipped starting June 3. Although Amazon says that its Moto G LTE comes with “universal LTE”, the handset’s specs reveal that the supported LTE bands are mainly North American ones: bands 2, 4, 5, and 17.

Like the original Moto G, the Moto G LTE runs near-stock Android 4.4 KitKat, and features a 4.5-inch 720p display, 5MP rear camera, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 2,070 mAh battery.
