ZTE launches the Firefox OS-based Open C via eBay, starts selling the Blade L2 in Europe

ZTE is now selling two new smartphones, one running Android, and another one running Mozilla’s Firefox OS.



The Firefox-based handset is the ZTE Open C (initially announced at MWC 2014 in February). Starting today, the device is available to buy via eBay for customers in the US, UK, Germany, Russia, and “more than 20 other European countries.”



Costing $99.99 (€84,99 / £69.99), the ZTE Open C is a low-end smartphone that comes with the latest version of Firefox OS. According to Mozilla, the new version brings enhanced scrolling performance, faster app startup times, support for email notifications and POP3, continuous autofocus for the camera, and other improvements.



Specs-wise, the Open C offers a 4-inch display with 480 x 800 pixels, HSDPA, 3MP rear camera, a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of expandable internal memory, and a 1,400 mAh battery. For more about this Firefox OS phone, check out our ZTE Open C hands-on.
