Back in February, Microsoft announced that LG would return as one of its Windows Phone hardware partners, after a few years during which the South Korean company didn’t release Microsoft-powered handsets at all.
While LG has yet to announce new Windows Phone devices, it will probably do it soon. According to Alan Mendelevich, the founder of cross-promotion network AdDuplex, a new LG-made WP handset known as the D635 is showing up in the network’s database. Reportedly, the device runs Windows Phone 8.1, and sports a 5-inch display with 720 x 1,280 pixels. Unfortunately, that’s all we know about the LG D635 at the moment. Anyway, it’s pretty clear that this is supposed to be a mid-range (thus, likely affordable) smartphone.
A few months ago, an LG Uni8 that allegedly ran Windows Phone 8.1 showed up - but that may have been just a hoax. We do not know if there’s any connection between the D635 and the Uni8. Hopefully, more details about LG’s Windows Phone-related plans will be revealed soon.
