Launched in India about two weeks ago, at the end of June, the Z3 can mean a new beginning for BlackBerry - which, as you may know, is in a pretty bad situation when it comes to smartphone sales.
According to The Economic Times, initial Z3 stocks are now almost depleted in India. Reportedly, a BlackBerry exec confirmed this, mentioning that sales are going well both online, and via retail stores.
It’s said that about 30,000 BlackBerry Z3 units may have been imported in India until now. That’s not a high number compared to how many smartphones other companies are selling in two weeks, but it’s nevertheless a good start. The Z3 currently costs about $260 in India (15,000 - 16,000 INR), where lots of customers choose to buy affordable smartphones instead of more expensive ones.
The Z3 is also available in Indonesia, and a few other countries, and it looks like BlackBerry will release it only in Asian and African markets. Running BlackBerry OS 10, the new smartphone is manufactured by Foxconn, that's why BlackBerry can sell it for a low price. Its feature include a 5-inch qHD (540 x 960) display, dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 5MP rear camera, 1.1MP front-facing camera, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and microSD card support.
