Flex cable for the Apple iPhone 6 leaks

samedi 19 juillet 2014

We are now at that time of the year when internal parts for the next Apple iPhone start bubbling up to the surface. For example, just the other day, parts allegedly for Touch ID were leaked. And we've seen the battery packs purportedly leak for both the 4.7 inch Apple iPhone 6 and the 5.5 inch Apple iPhone phablet.

On Friday, a pair of pictures reportedly of an Apple iPhone 6 flex cable surfaced. The part contains a Lightning connector port and a microphone. Also on board the part is a large headphone jack. There are some difference from the part's previous look from past iPhone models. There is additional circuitry and grounding plates, not to mention an oval cutout above the Lightning connector. Since this year's iPhone is supposed to be svelte instead of zaftig, the cutout just might be used to fit components into a smaller space. And the larger than usual headphone jack means that the latter could serve as a regular loudspeaker, despite the stunted sound quality that would create.

We could be in for a week or two of similar leaks, before we get to the meat and potatoes. With the 4.7 inch Apple iPhone 6 expected to roll off the assembly line starting next week, definitive images of the final look of Apple's next flagship smartphone, could leak very soon.
