Qualcomm promotes Motorola's Moto E

mercredi 9 juillet 2014

It’s not unusual for Qualcomm to directly promote smartphones that are powered by it chipsets. However, most of the handsets that the company is promoting are high-end, impressive models. So we were a bit surprised to see Qualcomm posting a video (embedded below) that showcases the low-end Motorola Moto E, which is available to buy since May.

Just like Motorola, Qualcomm says that the Moto E is “perfect for travelers and first-time smartphone users” - and we couldn’t agree more. Priced at only $129 (no contract required), the Moto E runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor paired with 1GB of RAM - thus being quite fast for it class.

The 4.3-inch (540 x 960 pixels) screen of the Moto E doesn’t provide a high ppi density, but first time smartphone users can’t complain about that. The new handset also features a 5MP rear camera, 4GB of expandable internal memory, splash-resistant coating, and a 1,980 mAh battery.
