Samsung Galaxy Avant to bring Remote Unlock capabilities to T-Mobile on July 30

lundi 21 juillet 2014

Las month, we told you about a new (and yet to be announced) Samsung smartphone that was supposed to be released in the US by T-Mobile. Samsung Galaxy Avant is the name of the handset, and it looks like it’s going to be available at T-Mobile starting July 30.

According to an internal document received by TmoNews, that’s the day when the Galaxy Avant will be released by T-Mobile via all channels. The most interesting thing about the Avant is that it will be the first handset to offer Remote Device Unlock - a feature which, as previously reported, should allow you to unlock the phone and use it with another carrier.

As we assumed in June, the Avant is T-Mobile’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Core LTE. The only difference that we’re noticing when it comes to specs is that the upcoming handset features a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, while the Core LTE has a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU (both made by Qualcomm). Other than that, you get a 4.5-inch qHD display, LTE connectivity, 5MP rear camera, 1GB of RAM, and expandable internal memory. We don’t know how much T-Mobile will ask for the Samsung Galaxy Avant, but the device should be pretty cheap.
