Samsung today revealed that its Kids Store (available in Kids Mode on the Galaxy S5 smartphone, as well as on the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Tab S 8.4) has been updated, now offering 900 apps specifically created for children.
The content available in Kids Store is categorized by age, as well as by subject (learning, play, and story). The Store includes free gifts of over $50, and allows parents to control the content that their children are able to purchase.
Kids Mode is currently available on Samsung devices in more than 150 countries around the world. It was first introduced on a tablet designed for children: the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Kids, released by Samsung in October last year.
“The average age at which children using ‘smart devices’ for the first time has become lower than before. Samsung is committed to providing interesting and educational content to children, while continuing its effort to help parents protect their children and allow them to enjoy safe, parent-approved content in their daily lives,” declared WonPyo Hong, President of the Media Solution Center at Samsung Electronics.
