For those in the states who want the Sony Xperia Z2, we have a little bit of good news. Unfortunately, the news does not involve the phone being offered by a U.S. carrier, at a subsidized price. However, it does relate to a small price break being offered by Sony's U.S. website. Originally priced at $749.99, the manufacturer's current flagship model is now reduced to $699.99 for a $50 haircut.
While that might be good news, we should add that the Xperia Z2 is on back-order and the current shipping date is unknown. The model being sold is the international LTE variant. This model supports LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20, and should work on both AT&T and T-Mobile networks.
Earlier reports that the Sony Xperia Z2 would be a Verizon exclusive turned out to be false, or possibly a misunderstanding. Big Red is selling the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet. Still, there were a couple of pictures that allegedly showed a Verizon branded Xperia Z2 handset. But with the Sony Xperia Z3 getting unveiled as soon as August, those Verizon customers calling their local store every day for the Sony Xperia Z2, might as well give it up and wait for the new model.
