Verizon has added iOS and Android tablets to its Verizon Edge plan. Big Red customers using Verizon Edge pay the full retail price of a device, but pay it off in monthly installments. Once 60% of the device has been paid off, the customer can then upgrade to a new device. This will allow users to buy a new LTE-enabled slate without paying for it all at once.
Verizon has an attractive roster of tablets to choose from, including the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, which will ship by July 17th. The Apple iPad Air, Apple iPad mini with Retina Display, and the original Apple iPad mini can be purchased using Verizon Edge. The LG G Pad 8.3 LTE is also an option.
Prices for the tablets on Verizon Edge range from $34.99 a month for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), to the $12.99 per month for the Verizon Ellipsis 7. For Verizon customers who want to pick up an tablet that supports LTE, but don't feel like paying the whole price at once, or get locked into a two-year pact, Verizon's decision to add iOS and Android tablets to Edge is like manna from heaven.
