LG’s first Android Wear smartwatch, the G Watch, is available to buy since earlier this month - not just in the US, but also in other key markets around the world. In order to make sure that potential buyers know what the G Watch is, and how it can be used, LG released an official hands-on video that showcases its capabilities.
The video is straightforward, first presenting the specs of the G Watch, then showing you how to pair the device with a smartphone (LG’s G3 in this case, but you can pair it with any handset running Android 4.3 or later). After that, LG teaches you how to change watch faces, make and receive calls, use Google Now, and so on. You can see it all in the video that’s embedded below. Of course, you can also read our own LG G Watch review for an in-depth look at the device.
The LG G Watch costs $229, which is $29 more than the price asked by Samsung for its own Android Watch device - the Gear Live. A third Android Wear smartwatch, namely the Motorola Moto 360, will be released later this year for a price that hasn't been revealed yet.
