Leaked image of Samsung marketing document reveals the final specs for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha?

lundi 11 août 2014

A leaked marketing document for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, reveals what is said to be the final specs for the phone that the manufacturer hopes will take on the Apple iPhone 6. Like the next iteration of the iPhone, the Galaxy Alpha will feature a 4.7 inch screen (Super AMOLED in the case of Sammy's phone). Samsung's handset will feature resolution of 720 x 1280. Depending on the region where you live, the unit will have an octa-core Exynos processor, or a quad-core Snapdragon 801 running the show. 2GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage is inside. There is no microSD slot on board.

A heart rate monitor is included as is a fingerprint scanner. The rear camera weighs in at 12MP while the front-facing shooter is 2.1MP. The battery on the document is a rather underwhelming 1860mAh. The price of the phone is claimed to be 2399 reals in Brazil ($1055 USD) with an unveiling expected in late August or early September.

Samsung is positioning the handset to be a challenger to the Apple iPhone 6, right down to matching the expected 4.7 inch screen-size of the next iteration of Apple's smartphone. Additionally, while Samsung is using metal on the phone, the rear cover is expected to be made of rubber. When rumors about this phone first leaked, there was talk of it being a premium device with a Snapdragon 805 processor, a 1440 x 2560 QHD screen, and a metal build. As it turns out, if these are the final specs, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is not the phone it was originally envisioned to be.
