New feature for Gmail lets you unsubscribe from junk mailing lists faster and easier

mercredi 6 août 2014

Gmail is about to make your online life a lot easier. From now on, when a spam or marketing email is sent to you on Gmail in the Promotions, Social or Forums message section, and an "unsubscribe" link is included in the message, Gmail will put it right on top of the email. You will find the link, next to the sender address. According to Google, which obviously put great thought into this, by putting the "unsubscribe" link at the top of the message, it won't get in the way of your ability to read the spam if you so desire. And if you want to have your email address removed from a spammer's list, this wish is just a click away.

While Gmail users would have had the ability to unsubscribe from these emails anyway, having a link found in the same location on each message, makes it easier and quicker to rid your inbox of these annoying missives. And by having the "unsubscribe" link on top, you won't have to go read each spam message looking for it. That alone will probably save you a lot of time, not to mention brain cells.

Keep an eye-peeled for this new "unsubscribe" option on Gmail. Anything that makes your life less complicated and frees up time, has to be applauded; that is what this new feature will do.
