Expected to be officially announced tomorrow, August 13, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will have several versions - depending on market, or carrier. As we told you earlier this month, Samsung itself seems to confirm the existence of at least five Galaxy Alpha models: SM-G850A, SM-G850H, SM-G850M, SM-G850T, and SM-G850F. It’s been discovered that the last version - SM-G850F - supports LTE Cat. 6 (aka LTE Advanced), just like the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A, or the LG G3 Cat. 6. Most likely, this means that the Alpha SM-G850F is powered by a new-generation Qualcomm processor, possibly the Snapdragon 805. According to rumors, there will also be Galaxy Alpha models with Samsung’s own Exynos 5433 processor.
The Galaxy Alpha seemingly sports a 4.8-inch, or 4.7-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, thus being smaller than Samsung’s Galaxy S5 flagship. The new handset is really thin (about 7mm - slightly thinner than the iPhone 5s), and is partially made out of metal. Other expected features include a 12 MP rear camera, heart rate sensor, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal memory.
It's said that Samsung intends to start selling the Alpha before the end of September. Are you waiting for the handset?
