T-Mobile's Galaxy S5 receives VoLTE, Verizon updates the flagship with a number of improvements, too

If you are sailing with the Samsung Galaxy S5 under Verizon or T-Mobile's colors, then your device will probably be treated to minor OTA updates in the following days. Both carriers have already begun the rollout of the firmware refreshments. The international version of Samsung's forerunner received a performance-boosting update just a week ago, but the carriers' current ones are not focused on under-the-hood refreshment.



Verizon's update to the Galaxy S5 is strolling under the G900VVRU1ANE9 build number and is improving and a lot of the features of Big Red's own apps. Some of the more notable highlights of Verizon's OTA refreshment are updated Caller Name ID, Message+, and Cloud apps. Apart from these, the update also fixes a number of issues and bugs that users have experienced. As a result, the Search icon from Memo won't come up when you have no memos, Visual Voicemail now works flawlessly with the S-View flip cover, and the general stability of Gear Manager has been improved, among other improvements.



T-Mobile, on the other hand, is rolling out an update with a G900TUVU1BNG3 build number and totes its changelog only says that it will enable the VoLTE (Voice over LTE) service for those who have subscribed for it. Thanks to this, users will be able to make calls with better overall quality. Apart from this major addition, T-Mobile's update doesn't bring any other improvements or bug fixes, at least as per the official information that we have.
