The king is dead, long live the king: @upleaks succeeds @evleaks

lundi 11 août 2014

Arguably the most popular leaker in the industry, the famed @evleaks stated last week that he is “retiring” and won't provide any more inside information about smartphones, gadgets, or gizmos. Evan Blass, which is evleaks' real name, had been leaking and disclosing details on a vast plethora of devices, and while his tips, predictions, and speculations were not always spot-on, he usually did not put a foot wrong. These days are over, however, as Evan Blass' deteriorating health condition is most probably preventing him from carrying on with the leaking.

Well, evleaks might be out of the game now, but this doesn't mean that he didn't crown a successor – introducing @upleaks. Apart from being situated in Beijing, China, little else is known about @upleaks. The new leaker already got hold of and shared a few rumors, regarding the purported HTC-prepped Google tablet (the T1, also known as the Flounder and Volantis) and Samsung's rumored upcoming smartwatch, the SM-R130 (the Gear Solo).

Hopefully, the new king of Leakland will provide us with the same amount of insights that @evleaks used to deliver. Oh, and let's hope that @upleaks will have the same rate of success as his renowned predecessor.
