Verizon's HTC One (M8) to get Android 4.4.3 by mid-September

mardi 19 août 2014

While T-Mobile's version of HTC's current flagship smartphone, the One (M8), is reportedly being updated to Android 4.4.3 KitKat as we speak, Verizon's one seems to be trailing a little bit behind in the update department. However, this is probably going to change by the middle of the next month. The president of HTC's US branch, Jason Mackenzie, revealed on Twitter that Big Red's One (M8) will have been treated to one of the latest versions of Google's OS “by mid-Sept”.

Fortunately for all owners of Verizon's One (M8), the Android 4.4.3 update is said to be including not only its own bug fixes, performance improvements, and new security features, but the ones from the newer Android 4.4.4 as well. T-Mobile also decided to jump on the same bandwagon with its current rollout of the similar update to its version of the device. We suppose that Big Red will also add some additional goodies to its Android 4.4.3 update, either.

Well, if you are flaunting the metal-clad HTC champion in your pocket and you're eager to get said update, then you'll have to wait for a couple of weeks more. Provided that you're a client of Verizon, that is. Meanwhile, Big Red will probably be one of the first carriers to offer the Windows Phone 8.1 version of the device, HTC One (M8) for Windows, which will most probably be unveiled later today, August 19.
