Acer intros three new tablets: Iconia One 8, Iconia Tab 10 and Iconia W8

mercredi 3 septembre 2014

Acer just announced three new tablets at IFA 2014 - two running Android, and one based on Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 with Bing, all costing less than $200 each.

The two new Android slates run KitKat, and are called Iconia One 8 and Iconia Tab 10. As its name suggests, the Iconia One 8 is an 8-inch device (with an 800 x 1200 pixel resolution). The tablet is 8.5mm-thin, and is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G processor. Other features include front- and rear-facing cameras, as well as expandable internal memory. Acer will sell the Iconia One 8 starting October in Europe, and starting November in the US, for $149.

Next, the Iconia Tab 10 sports a 10.1-inch Gorilla Glass IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels, an HDMI port and two cameras, and seems to be powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor. It’s going to be released later this month for $199.

Finally, the Acer Iconia W8 is similar, hardware-wise, to the Iconia One 8, but offers a Windows 8.1 software experience, including a 1-yr Office 365 subscription. The W8 comes to replace last year's Iconia W4.

We’ll have hands-on photos of the three new Acer slates pretty soon, plus more details on their features, so make sure to stick around.
