Samsung is seemingly getting ready to release a 5-inch Android smartphone that’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 processor. The smartphone is the SM-G5309W, and we can take a pretty good look at it thanks to the fact that it’s been approved by China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center.
There’s nothing unusual about the design of the SM-G5309W - it’s just a classic Samsung Android handset. It’s not a high-end device by any means, and you could tell that just by learning that its 5-inch screen has a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Other features include Android 4.4 KitKat, a 5 MP front-facing camera, 8 MP rear camera with flash, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage space, and microSD card support. Apparently, the SM-G5309W comes with a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 chipset (including an Adreno 306 GPU). Samsung has yet to officially announce any smartphones that use the Snapdragon 410 processor - which, by the way, is 64-bit-capable.
While the SM-G5309W is made for China - where it could be available to buy in the near future - variations of it may reach other markets. We'll let you know when (and if) that happens.
