MetroPCS hikes the amount of data on two of its plans by 500MB

jeudi 4 septembre 2014

Competition in the pre-paid market is heating up. On Tuesday, Boost Mobile doubled the amount of high-speed data it offers, for those signing up with the mobile operator through November 3rd. Today, MetroPCS added 500MB of data to a pair of its plans. For example, subscribers who pay $40 a month (after taxes and fees) for unlimited talk, text and 500MB of data, will now have 1GB of data to consume each month. MetroPCS customers paying $50 a month for unlimited talk, text and 2.5GB of data, will now have 3GB of the sweet stuff to use each month. The carrier will apply the changes automatically, and customers don't have to do anything to receive the extra data.

Additionally, MetroPCS has expanded to ten additional regions. New locations can be found in Chattanooga, TN; Chicago, IL; Kansas City, MO; Milwaukee, WI; Minneapolis-St.Paul, MN; Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News, VA; Richmond-Petersburg, VA; Salt Lake City, UT; St. Louis, MO;

and Yakima-Pasco-Richland-Kennewick, WA.

"Our MetroPCS team has been absolutely crushing it. While other major national wireless providers are losing prepaid customers in droves, MetroPCS is growing strong – because of its incredible value, award-winning customer service and a blazing fast network, so it only makes sense that we’d continue to bring MetroPCS to more people across America."-John Legere, CEO, T-Mobile

The prepaid carrier has.thrived under the ownership of T-Mobile. In the last 18 months, MetroPCS has gone from 6000 points of sale in 15 metro areas, to 11,000 points of sale in 55 metro markets.
