Android made its public debut in September 2008 on the T-Mobile G1 / HTC Dream smartphone, thus being 6 years (and 1 month!) old now. Who would have thought, 6 years ago, that this would grow to become the world’s leading smartphone platform before the end of 2010? Not many, if anyone at all. And yet it did happen - thanks to Google’s influence and financial power.
Although Android is the most used mobile OS on the planet, there are plenty of things that most people don't know about it. Right now, we're not going to talk about hidden software features or anything like that. Instead, we'll take a look at some general facts that you probably weren't aware of.
