Christian Bale once again appears the top choice to play Steve Jobs in Sony's biography

jeudi 2 octobre 2014

Now available to view on on Netflix, the Steve Jobs biopic Jobs left a lot to be desired. Not only were the facts wrong according to Steve Wozniak (and if anyone should know, it would be The Woz), but the whole movie seemed light on details. But Jobs was always going to be the warm up for the Sony Pictures biography, which is based on the best selling book by Walter Isaacson. This film is being written by West Wing screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and will have a much bigger budget than Jobs did.

It has been a long grueling process to cast the main character. The movie still does not have its Steve Jobs yet, and the front runner, Leonardo DiCaprio, has dropped out of the running because he is taking a hiatus from acting. That means that Christian Bale, who at one time was the top choice to play the co-founder of Apple, is once again seen as the best man to star in the movie.

Other names mentioned as possibilities to step into Steve Jobs' shoes include Ben Affleck, his pal Matt Damon, and Bradley Cooper. Considering that the film is still in pre-production, Sony has the time to find the star it needs to make this a movie that will appeal to techies and non-techies alike.
