Roughly eight days ago, LG made the news as it announced an Android device that employs the already archaic clam-shell form factor, which is (apparently) still holding its ground in South Korea. Fast-forward to October 2014, and LG treats us to yet another lower mid-range device – wave a big, hearty hello to the LTE-enabled LG F60!
It looks like a concoction between the LG-made Nexus 4 and the current flagship of the South Korea-based giant, the Quad HD LG G3. It is devoid of the latter's rear-positioned hardware set of buttons – one powers up and adjusts the volume thanks to side hardware keys. The exact dimensions of the LG F60 are 127.5 x 67.9 x 10.6mm – as you can see, it's not among the slimmest mid-rangers.
Moving on to the spec sheet of the F60, we find a quad-core Snapdragon silicon prowess of unspecified model number which ticks and clicks along 1GB of RAM. The display of the LG F60 is a 4.5-inch LCD one and its resolution is 480x800 pixels. Simple math shows us that the display density of the LG F60 is 207 pixels per inch – as a side comparison, the LTE-enabled Moto G has a pixel density of 326ppi, but then again, the latter comes with a 720p display.
The rear camera is a 5MP one and has snatched some of G3's software features, i.e Gesture Shot, Touch & Shoot, whereas the 1.3MP front-facing shooter benefits from the selfie-friendly Front Camera Light goodness.
The native memory storage of LG's newest trooper is either 4GB or 8GB, depending on the exact variation you opt for. Speaking of versions, the F60 will be available in both a single-SIM and a dual-SIM ones.
Both of them will have a 2,100mAh battery at their backs, which will probably ensure for a very good battery life. The device comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and, as we said, is LTE-enabled. It will be available in both black and white in markets across Europe, “followed by Asia and the Americas starting this week“. LG is yet to announce the pricing of the F60.
