A man in China spent $94,400 to purchase 99 Apple iPhone 6 handsets, for a marriage proposal. The incurable romantic took the boxes with the 99 handsets inside, and formed the outline of a heart. Holding a bouquet of flowers, he and his girlfriend stepped inside the heart where the man proceeded to ask the girl if she would marry him. Unfortunately for our hero, the answer was "No". To add to the humiliation, the event was photographed and disseminated via a tweet.
As we told you yesterday, Tuesday was Singles' Day in China. It is the world's biggest shopping holiday, far surpassing Black Friday in the U.S. The original intention of the holiday was to spur those unlucky in love, to get together. But Singles' Day has morphed into the kind of holiday where Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi earned global attention for selling 1.16 million handsets on Tuesday alone.
Returning to our jilted lover, we are not sure if he is still seeing the woman who rejected his marriage proposal. What we do know, is that he is the guy to see in China if you're looking to buy an Apple iPhone 6.
