Microsoft posts an introductory video of the Lumia 535

mardi 11 novembre 2014

Microsoft has just announced the Lumia 535 – the first smartphone to carry Microsoft's own brand – and now, it is, naturally, going to put some work into acquainting us with the newest Windows Phone handset.

To do so, the company just uploaded a video ad to show the Lumia 535 and have all its features elaborated on by a person, introduced as a copywriter (nudge, nudge, productive crowd). We are treated to a showcase of the 5” display, the wide-angled selfie cam and the Lumia selfie app, Cortana, pinning apps as Live Tiles, and are informed about OneDrive giving 15 GB storage for free to Lumia owners, and the built-in Office, for some file-tweaking on the go.

The Lumia 535 comes with Windows Phone 8.1, sporting the latest update – Lumia Denim – out of the box. It is equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 SoC, with 1GB RAM ,and 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card, two 5 MP cameras, and a 1905 mAh battery.

So, it's an entry-level handset, and is priced competitively – at ~$135 (€110). The 535 will be sold in Single SIM and Dual SIM variants, probably market-dependant, and the first country to get it will be China, later this month.
