Samsung opens exclusive Galaxy Lifestyle Store in China, lures customers with perks like free coffee

lundi 3 novembre 2014

Samsung today opened an exclusive Galaxy Lifestyle Store in Beijing, China’s capital, in order to provide customers “a uniquely valuable experience” whenever they want to buy - or just check out - its mobile products.

Unlike the Samsung Experience Stores that can be visited in other countries, this Galaxy Lifestyle Store seems to offer a bit more to customers. Younghee Lee, Samsung’s Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Division, says that this is “not just a retail store, but a place to hang out, meet new friends and access exclusive content, together.”

The new store includes five distinct areas: Product Experience Zone, Galaxy Lab, Galaxy Music, Galaxy Accessories, and Concierge. Customers can listen to music on Level headsets, read magazines on Galaxy Tab S slates, or get free coffee when they buy a Galaxy Note 4.

At the moment, Samsung is no longer China’s leading smartphone vendor, being dethroned by Xiaomi earlier this year. The new Galaxy Lifestyle Store may help Samsung differentiate its brand from local handset makers in an attempt to regain its lost market share.

Samsung didn’t say if it’s planning to open Galaxy Lifestyle Stores in other locations.
