Apple May be Launching Public iOS Beta as Early as March
"Apple plans to launch the first-ever public beta program for the iOS operating system," says 9to5Mac\'s Mark Gurman. Following the companies first successful OS X public beta last summer, Apple may be porting that same public beta to iOS. This program may take effect as early as March with iOS 8.3. Reports claim that the public beta of iOS 8.3 will be identical to the iOS 8.3 developer beta 3. iOS 8.3, codenamed Stowe, was first seeded in early February with new additions such as CarPlay, a refreshed Emoji keyboard, an enhanced Siri voice, and more. The second beta of the software is expected to release this upcoming Monday. Apple is also reportedly working on iOS 8.4, which may bring Apple\'s in-house streaming service. Like the early iOS 8 betas, the public beta will have a dedicated bug reporter app to report bugs to Apple. Apple\'s main goal is to focus on fixing bugs. Apple\'s last two major releases has had its fair share of bugs. Another thing worth noting, the company has yet to have a major iOS release that purely focuses on fixing bugs. Launching the pubic beta program will also reduce the amount of unauthorized beta downloads from developer accounts.
